What can I expect from Seeing Auschwitz The Exhibition?

Seeing Auschwitz incorporates 100 photographs, sketches and testimonies and  re-examines each “frozen moment” by looking more closely at the individuals in front of and behind the camera lens, and asks searching questions about what each image really reveals.  Visitors are confronted by what it means to go beyond the gaze of the perpetrator, the victim, and the onlooker, to more fully understand the reality of the German Nazi camp Auschwitz, and to reflect on what this means for us today.

The visit will take approximately 60-75 minutes, but if you wish to stay longer inside the exhibition you can do so without any problem.

The Exhibition is open Thursdays to Saturdays from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. and Sundays from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m.

No. The visit to the exhibition includes a free audio guide that will guide you personally and explain the exhibition room by room. You can download it from your mobile phone with a QR code available at the entrance.

No, it is always included with your ticket. It can be downloaded on your smartphone device with a QR code at the entrance of the exhibition. Thus, we strongly encourage guests to bring their own headphones. Free public Wi-Fi will be available on-site. The audio guide is available in English and Spanish.

Part of the revenue generated by the exhibition will be used to support Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum in Poland in their efforts to ensure the long-term preservation and conservation of the authentic site, preserve its authenticity and educate people about the history of the German Nazi concentration and extermination camp and the horrors of the Holocaust.

I have a hearing impairment: how can I still enjoy the guide?

In this case you can request the transcription of the audio guide (available in English and Spanish), which will allow you to experience the visit just like any other visitor. In these cases it is advisable to contact us in advance so that we can ensure the availability of the transcript.

Feel free to take photos. When taking photos, please make sure not to disturb other guests. Professional equipment, selfie sticks and tripods are not permitted. If deemed appropriate, the possibility of taking photographs may be temporarily prohibited for the proper functioning of the exhibition and optimal conservation of the pieces.
